NAVALSECURITY.ORG elevated on Dec., 28^th 2009 its
Shipping Security Level to 4 (HIGHH RISK) for

- Persian Gulf
- Indian Ocean

after AlQaeda published a communique on Sunday, Dec. 27^th 2009, announcing terror attacks on western merchant ships in general and cruise vessels in particular as a "response" to alleged US bombings of AlQaeda strongholds in Yemeni tribal areas the week before.

NOTE: considering the recent terrorist attack on the Japanese tanker M/T "M. Star" near the Strait of Hormuz / latest developments in Somalia and Yemen, we uphold our terror warning. (August, 25^th 2010)
